I was excited to meet with the “W” family for our session together, and decided on the Reynolda House in the historic Winston-Salem area for their session.  It’ s just about the prettiest spot imaginable!

We had so much fun exploring the beautiful grounds of the historic home, and captured some lovely shots around the property.  It is such a gorgeous setting for a portrait session!

The “W” family was so happy and in love with Little E, not even 1 year old….she is so precious!   Little E was loving my little red wagon, and I love the way she lit up when she got to jump inside!

What an honor, to spend an afternoon with such wonderful people.  Thank you for including me in your family for a couple of hours!

I can’t believe summer is here and July 4th is right around the corner!  It’s time to pull out the American flag, buy sparklers and get decked out in red, white and blue!   Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays, as I love celebrating it outdoors, in Ardmore, with family and friends.  I’m looking forward to our annual 4th of July picnic with the Ardmore Neighborhood Association. This year our picnic will be held at Miller Park at Shelter #1 from 11:30am-2pm.  We have so much fun catching up with our neighbors, eating yummy dishes, and, of course, watching the parade of red, white and blue bikes, strollers and wagons!  Some families get so creative, and the kids have a blast showing off their festive ride!  Check out the fun snapshots from last year’s event (please note these aren’t professional pictures).  We hope to see you this year on July 4th!

It was a gorgeous day in Ardmore to photograph one of my favorite families. This family of three is very dear to my heart. I’ve been photographing their son, Rider, since he was just 3 months old. I’ve loved watching Rider grow over the last 2 years into such a happy and sweet boy. And, he might be the cutest blonde haired, blue-eyed, 2-year old around…his smile is contagious!

It brings me great sadness to say that this was our last session together, as my dear friends are moving to New York City. They’ve built so many wonderful memories here, so we thought it was fitting to do a signature Ardmore session. We visited their beautiful home, where Rider was born and has grown up, and were able to take some meaningful family portraits. We walked the tree-lined streets around the neighborhood and had a touching goodbye session with family and friends that they’ve made through the years. I will miss them so much and they will be missed by the community.

We hope to have more signature Ardmore sessions in the future, I just love photographing our great community!

Oh how we love sisters!  Little “SG” is the baby posing at the top of the blog and now she is a great big sister to little “L”!   We met at Old Salem on a lovely morning, for some photography fun and no one was disappointed.  I have adored this family from the moment we all met many years ago, and this day was no exception!  I am so honored to see the “P” family every 3 months to capture the milestones of these sweet girls in the Watch Me Grow plan.  (Click here to see their last session!)

This time, we smelled flowers, rode in my ‘new’ old wagon, played peek-a-boo at my favorite yellow barn at Old Salem. Could there be a better day?  I am so thankful to get to join in with these cuties whenever I can!  Thank you for inviting me along, P Family!

I’m excited about the Ardmore Home and Garden Tour this Saturday, May 5th!  Its no secret that I love Ardmore, so much so that I named my photography business after it.  This neighborhood is such a lovely place to call home, with sidewalks on every streets, friendly neighbors, and adorable older homes. Some of my favorite photography sessions have taken place in Miller Park, on tree-lined streets in the fall, or cottages of Ardmore’s residents.  This Saturday, I’ll be giving a portrait to session to one lucky person on the home tour!  All you have to do is participate in the tour and your name will be entered to win a free portrait session.  What better way to spend a beautiful Saturday than touring Ardmore’s homes and gardens. I hope you’ll join me!

It was such a beautiful spring morning at Graylyn and Reynolda House field. Running through the field full of buttercups was the perfect way to end our shoot! ‘L’s mom brought a few different adorable dresses and necklaces given by dear family members. I had such a wonderful time with the P family and look forward to seeing them again!

Samantha will be graduating WFU this year and what a perfect way to commemorate the occasion, a photo session on campus at her most memorable places! Samantha chose several places that she was most fond of; the dance studio, Davis Field, chapel, quad, Starbucks and TriDelta House.

We had such a fun time incorporating the university she loves so much into her images on this beautiful early evening! The light was absolutely perfect! I’m so glad her family was in town during our shoot, we were able to get lots of fun family and sister shots.  I had such  hard time narrowing my choices down 🙂 I’m very excited to share the gallery with Samantha soon!

I was so excited to hear the news of baby “AK’s” arrival.  During our newborn session, this beautiful little girl was either smiling or sleeping soundly for her adoring parents. I just loved spending the afternoon with this little girl and her parents.  The “W” family could not have been happier to welcome their daughter home. I was honored to capture the joy of these first days as a family of 3.

It was such a beautiful morning together and quite an adventure exploring our new favorite location, absolutely perfect for Miss ‘S’ First Year photos! I can’t believe a year has gone by already! As our Watch Me Grow Plan nears an end, I’m filled with both joy and sadness. It has been such a wonderful blessing to spend a year watching and photographing little ‘S’ grow up so fast! It is so fun to see newborns grow from a tiny, delicate, 8 lbs to a crawling, walking, smiling, laughing, teeth-having, nearly talking little person and to capture that season in a family’s life.  It is such a beautiful time! I’ll really miss seeing Little ‘S’, mom and dad every 3 months. Look over our sessions for a snapshot of Little Miss ‘S’ first year with her loving parents.
